I'm so bad at taking pictures. I'm very envious of all of you who take pictures regularly of your classroom and kiddos. I need to make a big sign of sorts and put it somewhere in my room to remind me to take pictures at least once a day! With that said though, I DID remember to take pictures of my classroom Friday afternoon before I left for the day. It was my goal to get them posted this weekend. One more thing to mark off that forever long and growing "to do" list.
Keep one thing in mind when looking at my pictures, there are some things that are still not finished. I like to finish things as I get to know my students. Their personalities dictate how my class is going to run and I have to keep that in mind when setting up my room. I have learned my lesson one to many times putting things up and arranging my room a certain way, only to get my kiddos and realize it JUST WASN'T GOING TO WORK. So if you see something not finished in one my pics, please know that it's not because I'm being a slacker. I have reasons. :)
I like how my door turned out. It's just enough to make me happy!
My "wall of wow" outside of my classroom. I just hope the fire marshall doesn't come through and make me take my "poof" balls down.
Our class pledge. Love the faces! Full of personality!
Notice that my transportation chart does not have names yet. I CANNOT find wooden clothes pins anywhere! Every teacher in my county, and the neighboring county, must have bought every pack of clothes pins in every store!
My writing board and math board. Will add to it as we move along through the year.
Wonderful Work board.
Learning board. I want to use this board to display what we are learning for the week. I would like to attach clothes pins to the board so I can change out weekly. But, since there seems to be a shortage of clothes pins, I can 't finish this board!
I like to group my students into groups of 4. This year I started with groups of six. I made myself try it for a week. By Friday, I was moving them into groups of 4. Notice the pair of 2? On the second day of school I had to move one little fellow by himself. It has worked beautifully so far (his K teacher from last year filled my ear up about him, I'm determined to make him a changed man!!!)
I really dislike my blue rug. I'm going to get rid of it as soon as I can. I found a rug at
Big Lots that I like, I'm just worried it won't be big enough.
Love my Ikea stools! I want to buy more of them! They are so light that I can pick one of them up and move it around the room to sit next to kiddos that I am working with.
Our "family" tree.
Front of the room.
Love my new hall passes that I made. I had some ugly pink and blue ones that didn't match. I've become quite obsessed with having things match.
So I hope you enjoyed my classroom. It's my home away from home and I really like for it to be an enjoyable place for me and my students.
I hope you all have a great week!
I'm so excited that next weekend is a "3 day" weekend!
