A full moon, the 100th day of school, spring like temps, and just ordinary first grade antics make for a very long week!
TGIAF~Thank Goodness It's Almost Friday!
I'm not sad to say that I'm glad January is just about over. It's such a blah kind of month, I'm ready for the pink and red that February brings. February also promises to bring lots of lots of things to teach, we will definitely be busy!
To help inspire my kids when they are writing, I like to display words on my writing board that correlate with themes. My students love having these words available to use with their writing throughout the course of the theme or month. Having the words so accessible also helps in reducing all of the "How do you spell?" questions that I get quite frequently!!!! For February, I have included words for Valentine's Day, Groundhog's Day, and President's Day. I also included a few dental health words, too. I have to say, this packet of word wall words was so much fun to make. And, because February is all about love and friendship, I would love to share this packet of words with all of you!

Enjoy!

I have a chart in my writing center but it's too small for the kiddos to see from their seats. I like your idea of having them displayed! Thanks for sharing.

For the Love of First Grade
Thank you for sharing!!! I'm working with a kindergarten teacher and those will definitely work perfect in the "portable word wall" we've made.
